We are the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at:

• Enquiries and visit requests: your name, phone number and/or email, the plants you ask about and your message.
• Your account (if you create one): email, name, phone, saved plants and basket, and your customer type (retail, landscaper or wholesale).
• Trade accounts: business name and type, company or VAT number, county, contact details, estimated volume and any plant lists you upload.
• Orders: what you order, delivery address and payment records. Orders are confirmed by WhatsApp, email or phone.
• Technical data: our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and working.

• To answer enquiries, arrange visits, quote and deliver orders and run your account — necessary for a contract with you or steps you asked for before one.
• To keep records we are required to keep, such as invoices for HMRC — legal obligation.
• To protect the site against spam and misuse, and to manage our business — our legitimate interests, which we balance against your rights.
• To show the Google map on our contact page — your consent, which you can withdraw.

These providers process data on our behalf under data processing agreements. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

• Supabase — database, customer accounts and file storage. Data is stored in Ireland (EU).
• Vercel — hosts the website. Pages are served from Dublin.
• Resend — sends us an email alert when you submit a form, and account emails such as password resets.
• Microsoft — our email inbox (info@italygardens.com).
• WhatsApp (Meta) — if you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp's own privacy policy applies to that conversation.
• Google — only if you choose to load the map on our contact page or to sign in with Google.

Some of these companies are based in the United States. Where your data leaves the UK, it is protected by UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum.

• Enquiries and visit requests: 24 months, then deleted automatically.
• Email alert records (no message content): 12 months, then deleted automatically.
• Your account: until you delete it from your account page, or ask us to.
• Order and invoice records: 6 years, as HMRC requires.

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive a copy to take elsewhere. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time — for cookies, use "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.

All traffic to the site is encrypted. Enquiries and account data can only be read by you and by our authorised staff, and every database table enforces those access rules.
